We are a Danish design and sculptor duo who, inspired by ancient architecture and sculpture, create ceramic sculptures, reliefs, and everyday objects.
All of this we do from our studio in Aarhus, Denmark.
Every product has been in our hands from start to finish and is thoroughly crafted — from design to final piece.
We work with ceramic castings, where we slipcast our art, but also with unique, one-of-a-kind pieces.
At Laoru Laoru, we are both involved in most of the processes, and together we love creating and developing our shared passion and heart project that our company represents.
The name Laoru Laoru comes from our shared surname, Laoru, which we took when we got married in 2018.
The name is inspired by the character Hlao-Roo from the book Watership Down, which translated means
“Little Clay Pot.”

At Laoru Laoru, we’re passionate about classical antiquity.
The ancient Greek and Roman sculptures, architecture, and aesthetics are in our DNA — they are our eternal source of inspiration!
Perfectionism and fine craftsmanship are virtues from the ancient Greek civilization that we especially embrace when working with form and design.
We do this while also drawing inspiration from modern Nordic design language and current interior trends.
